FAQ's - Frequently Asked Questions

What is Salt Therapy?

Salt Therapy utilises the natural therapeutic properties of salt to promote healing and relaxation.

To put it simply you sit and relax in a specially designed salt room and breathe in the microscopic salt particles.

Our halogenerator grinds up the pharmaceutical grade salt into minute particles and disperses it through the air into the room according to a constantly monitored level of dosing.

What is Salt Cave/Room?

We have a room where the walls and floor are covered in salt. We call it a salt cave. Salt Caves have been used for wellness for thousands of years after they discovered that salt miners had the best health in medieval times.

The salt room itself is a sterile micro climate that is free of toxins and allergens which allows the body to rest and start to naturally heal itself.

Describe the Salt Therapy healing process

When the salt particles are inhaled by the client, the dry salt is immediately attracted to moisture in the airways. The salt is known to help relieve inflammation and loosen congestion, creating easier and improved breathing. It

The anti-inflammatory and anti-histamine properties of salt allows the airways to open up, increasing oxygen intake and cleanses the airways of smoke, dust, pollutants and other allergens.

The anti-inflammatory and anti-histamine properties also assist with skin ailments to be treated. As the salt lands on the skin, it can relieve pain and improve the healing of flaky, red, irritated skin.

What will my first session be like and what will I wear?

We will greet you at the reception desk and ask you to fill out a brief questionnaire.

The temperature in the rooms is maintained between 18 and 24 degrees.

You don’t have to wear anything special, just your normal, everyday clothes. The only preparation we ask people to observe is not to wear any perfume or strong scented beauty products as many of our clients may be sensitive to these smells.

There are comfortable chairs in the room for you to sit and relax in whilst reading a book or listening to your audio through headphones so as not to disturb others.

Relaxing background sounds will help send you off to sleep if that’s your preference.

There is a separate room for children where they can watch TV or play in the salt like they were at the beach.
